18 arrested, 150 bags of heroin taken

A total of 18 people were arrested and 150 bags of heroin recovered as part of a citywide drug sweep performed on Tuesday with the assistance of county, state and federal agents, authorities said.

The surveillance operation, which resulted in drug arrests made in five locations, involved Plainfield police working in tandem with the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, the Union County Sheriff’s Department, New Jersey State Police, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The incidents that led to the arrests included the following:

Dante R. Faulcon, 24, of North Plainfield was arrested and charged with 12 drug offenses after allegedly selling narcotics to Shakeemah McClaurin, 22, of Plainfield, Batin T. Eure, 37, of Somerville, Dawan Thompson, 41, of Middlesex Borough, David Murdock, 45, of Plainfield, Mark D. Pringley, 46, of Plainfield and Timothy P. Codella, 60, of Somerville, police said. The sales took place during three transactions, resulting in five drug charges against Eure, two drug charges against McClaurin, Thompson, Murdock and Codella, and a single charge against Pringley. Additionally, a 16-year-old male juvenile from Piscataway was arrested for being a lookout, charged with loitering to commit a narcotics offense.

Arthur L. Smith, 25, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with 12 drug offenses after allegedly selling narcotics to Bienvenido Pereira Jr., 39, of North Plainfield, Axel Rodriguez, 40, of Plainfield and Charles F. Robinson, 62, of North Plainfield, police said. The sales took place during two transactions, resulting in two drug charges against Pereira and Rodriguez and a single charge against Robinson.

Steven Adams, 22, was arrested and charged with four drug offenses after allegedly selling narcotics to Arthur D. Frink, 57, of Middlesex Borough, police said. Frink was charged with two drug offenses.

Rashon F. Faulcon, 27, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with three drug offenses after allegedly selling narcotics to Guadalupe Porras, 34, of Plainfield, police said. Porras was charged with a single drug offense
